Hi, I'm Mary Cox.
I am genuinely terrible at writing About pages. They always feel like a resume, and I am not a resume. So here's just... me.
How I ended up here
In 2015 I left medical school and needed a job while I figured out what was next. I thought I'd be in real estate for maybe a year before starting another grad program. lol.
My first week working as an executive assistant for a top producer, I built a spreadsheet that showed her how to double her sales. My brain just... works that way. Systems. Strategy. Simplification. It always has.
I never left.
Over the next several years I helped grow that team from $8M to $30M in production. Along the way I co-founded a real estate photography company. Then I built The Source Brokers — a systems and operations company that handled social media, database management, and transaction coordination for agents who needed real infrastructure, not more advice.
And man... somewhere in all of that, I realized this is what I'm actually meant to do. Not just sell houses. Build businesses. Help other people build theirs.
Today I'm the Team Leader at Keller Williams Elite in Oklahoma City — one of the top KW offices in the region — leading 230 agents. I spend my days thinking about what makes agents thrive in THIS market, with THIS economy, in THIS season of their lives.
The part that matters most to me
Here's what I've seen over 11 years: the agents who actually make it aren't always the most talented or the hardest working. They're the ones who build systems that run when they don't. Who protect their time like it's the most valuable thing they own. Who have a business that fits the life they actually want.
That's the whole thing for me. Business should work for your life — not the other way around.
So before I ever look at your numbers, I want to know YOU. What you did before real estate. What lights you up. What a really good Tuesday afternoon looks like for you personally. Because a plan that isn't built for your actual life won't stick — and I'm only interested in things that stick.
The humans (and animals) in my corner
In the fall of 2020, a guy named Chris followed me on Instagram. We were both running businesses, both obsessed with OKC, and had about a hundred mutual friends — which was somehow a mystery to all of us. He eventually slid into my DMs to invite me to a local brewery event. We didn't even connect that night. And yet...
Our first official date he took me to an art gallery and showed up with a plant from a local shop. I mean. A plant. I was done.
We spent the next few years making memories, dreaming up business ideas, and figuring out that calendar invites and family meetings are genuinely our love language. In January 2024, in our home — the place we'd spent a year making ours — Chris proposed. He'll tell you a cardinal named Lucky Bird gave him the courage to do it that day. I'll tell you it was the most perfectly him moment I could have imagined.
We got married on October 6, 2024 in Oklahoma City, surrounded by the people we love most.
And then there are the dogs.
Indiana is our 6-year-old Newfypoo — he is approximately the size of a small horse and has the energy of a golden retriever who just had three espressos. Howard is our 1-year-old Labradoodle who arrived and immediately became Indiana's personal nemesis and best friend simultaneously. Our house is chaotic and full and I wouldn't change a single thing about it.
A few more things you should probably know
I will remember your birthday. I send real cards — not automated ones, actual cards. I will ask about your kids by name. I will remember the thing you mentioned six sessions ago. That's just how I'm wired — I genuinely care about the people I work with, and I think that comes through pretty quickly.
I believe in celebrating the wins. All of them. Not just the big closings — the first call you didn't dread making, the first week you actually followed your schedule, the moment something finally clicked. Those count.
And I believe that the best thing I can do for your business is show up prepared, hand you a real plan, and cheer like crazy while you run with it.
cheering for you!
Mary
